| Week of 8-25-08 | All Classes ~ Shakespeare Money Due by 9/05/08 ($35.00); Grammar focus: noun forms ~ exercises and activities in class; Completed "The Most Dangerous Game" short story along with questions answered and submitted by computer!; AP Project: create a video game via PowerPoint presentation ~ completed in class as a group activity and presented on Friday; Core ~ researching superstitions as a connection to "The Most Dangerous Game" ~ present as a PowerPoint sometime next week; continuing grammar studies and short stories next week; upon completion will begin first novel; Have a great Labor Day weekend! |

All Classes ~ Shakespeare Money Due by
9/05/08 ($35.00); Continue study on parts of speech and will be
completed on Monday (8-25)with a review on Tuesday(8-26) and the test on
Wednesday(8-27); Short stories continued ~ completed Theme (AP classes
completed a chart and essay as the final assessment which was due today;
Core classes completed chart only which was due today); Setting focus
began today (8-22) with the story "The Most Dangerous Game"
which we are reading in class; The reading will be complete on Monday
along with discussion and questions for submitting; Tuesday
students will be assigned groups and complete their own game on
PowerPoint which will be due Wednesday or Thursday and the rubric will
be on a form saved in their P-Drive (hard copies are available if
needed); No homework for the weekend ~ enjoy!
PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE ISSUED THIS WEEK ~ Probably Tuesday or Wednesday |
| Week of 8-11-08 | AP ~ submit Completed Time Machine Study Guide; Time Machine Review and Discussions; Time Machine Test; All classes ~ Shakespeare Money and Permission Forms Due by September 5 ($35.00 per student); Parents should complete questionnaire and return by Friday, August 15; Complete Classmate Inventory and My Bio Poem in class (if anyone needs additional time, this may be completed for homework and turned in the following day); Begin Parts of Speech Review; Begin short story studies with emphasis on Theme, Main Idea and Supporting Details, and Compare Stories through Essay Response |
