Sept. 2 - Study for tomorrow's pronoun unit test using today's practice test and your pronouns lessons 1-6 notes in your grammar section. Work on draft two of memoir.
Sept. 3 - Work on geometric book project as needed. 2nd block - Be sure to finish two new leads for your memoir and save them as "My New Leads" on your p-drive. 4th block - If you haven't finished your first draft of your memoir, finish that tonight!
Sept. 4- Finish geometric book projects and practice your presentation. 2nd block - Finish trying at least two memoir revision techniques from my website, print memoir, and bring to class Friday. 4th block - Finish trying two new leads for your memoir.
Sept. 5 - None, unless you didn't bring in your geometric book project today or didn't write your memoir. If you need to take care of one or both of these, take care of them this weekend!
Sept. 8 - Work on memoir for at least 20 minutes. The final for 100 points will be due by Friday.

Sept. 10 - Continue to work on memoir so you can participate in peer conferencing on Thursday. Bring $35 for ASF by Friday!

Sept. 15 - Finish reading Chapter 4 of Chinese Cinderella and write your chapter summary. Create your vocabulary graphic for the word you chose today. Follow the directions carefully.
Remember, dance for donuts at 7:15 if you want to participate in the dance contest portion of the pep rally, or come after school tomorrow.
Sept. 16 - Vocabulary graphics if not turned in today. Vocabulary flashwords for the sixteen words on the first list for Chinese Cinderella. Finish reading Chapter 6 and write chapter summary.
Sept. 17 - Study for dialogue unit test tomorrow. Finish reading chapters 7 and 8 of Chinese Cinderella and write summaries for each one. Remember to take care of any progress report zeroes by Friday!
Sept. 18 - Finish reading through Chapter 9 of Chinese Cinderella and write a summary. Study for vocabulary quiz on Monday. Take care of any 0's by tomorrow.
Sept. 19 - Finish reading Chapter 10 of Chinese Cinderella and write a chapter summary. If you have been absent, use the weekend to catch up on your reading. Study for vocabulary quiz which has been moved to Tuesday of next week.
Sept. 22 - Study for tomorrow's vocabulary quiz. Finish reading Chapter 11 from Chinese Cinderella and write your chapter summary.
Sept. 23 - Read and write summaries for Chapter 12 and 13 of Chinese Cinderella. Homework check and/or pop quiz is very likely. 2nd block students work on finalizing memoirs. 4th block students, I forgot to give you your teacher edits back today, but several of you turned in nothing for a teacher edit. Work on your memoir! It will be due Thursday for 100 points.
Sept. 24 - Use teacher editing marks (if you asked for some) to clean up the final draft of your memoir. Print it and bring it to class tomorrow. Also, finish reading Chapter 14 and write your chapter summary.
Sept. 25 - Get progress reports signed to bring back tomorrow. If you have fallen behind on your reading or summaries, use tonight to catch up and read through Chapter 14 of Chinese Cinderella and write any missing summaries. Remember your summaries in order in a folder are going to be worth 100 points at the end of the book.
Sept. 29 - Study for quiz on italics vs. quotation marks. Read through p. 149 in Chinese Cinderella.
Sept. 30 - Read through chapter 17 of Chinese Cinderella and write your chapter summary.
Oct. 1 - Read Chapter 18 of Chinese Cinderella and write your chapter summary. 2nd blockers take care of vocabulary graphics. 4th blocker, vocab. graphics are due Friday.
Oct. 2 - Read Chapter 20 and expect a quiz. 4th block students bring in vocabulary graphics tomorrow.
Oct. 3 - Finish the book Chinese Cinderella if you did not finish it in class. Complete the second page of the study guide I gave you today.
Oct. 6 - Complete Part Two of the study guide that you copied from the R-drive to your English folder and saved under Chinese Cinderella. Remember vocabulary flashcards are due Wednesday and your Chinese Cinderella test is Thursday.
Oct. 7 - Vocabulary flashcards and in 4th block finish the Study Guide Part Two (Chapters 17-22) that you copied to your p-drive. Review your study guides. Your unit test on Chinese Cinderella is Thursday.

Oct. 23 - Newspaper article about Odysseus's adventure in the Cyclops' cave. Remember that you can write as for The Greek Times or The Cyclopes Daily News. Remember to bring in any late work to make up 0's or blanks (on last week's progress report) by tomorrow or grades become 0's for good.

Nov. 5 Start looking over your Odyssey study guide (2nd page in your packet). Also, in 4th finish allusions and epithets.
Nov. 6 Begin studying for the Odyssey unit test. Here's the study guide on-line in case you forgot to take yours home. We will play our review game on Monday. You test will be Wednesday.
Nov. 7 Review for Verb Unit Test on Monday and study for your Odyssey Family Feud Review Game to be held Monday after your grammar test. The team that wins the game wins five bonus points on your Odyssey Unit Test Wednesday.

Nov. 21 BRING CANS! Review Act One from Romeo and Juliet for Monday's quiz. 2nd block come up with at least ten ideas for your own "Where Poetry Hides for Me" list. Dec. 1 Try a new poem tonight to show me tomorrow. Make this a poem that starts in the midst of things - start writing in the middle of an experience without an introduction.
Dec. 2 Write either a sonnet using the handout you received or three haikus. If neither works for you, write another new poem, but write!
Dec. 3 Study for Romeo and Juliet Act 2 Quiz. Write poetry.
Dec. 4 Write a new poem tonight and keep today's lesson on line breaks in mind. Remember, if you revise any of your other poems, save the changes as draft 2.
