Students: You did not receive a schedule for next year if you have not turned in all of the required registration materials. See Mrs. Crocker in Office 1104 if you have any questions about this.

Attention 9^th Grade Students: Only students who have incomplete (periods without classes) 10^th grade schedules will be considered for a schedule change at this time. If you have a complete schedule, most likely you will not receive a schedule change as most of the classes at AHS are full. Please do not request moving classes from one period to another. It is fine for any of you to submit a schedule change, but it is very unlikely that you will receive exactly what you are requesting.

8^th grade students: Check your schedule to make certain all academic classes are correct and that you have electives listed. If a schedule change is needed, you must complete the schedule change form (available in the Counseling Office or with teachers) and return it to Mrs. Pickens or Mrs. Frazier. Most electives are full, so submitting a request to change electives does not guarantee it will be granted. The final day to submit a schedule change is June 2, no exception.

9^th grade students: The time to turn in your laptop is almost here! Voluntary collection will be held next Monday (5/21) –Thursday (5/22) from 7:30-7:55 a.m. in the gym and during Brunch on Thursday (5/22) and Friday (5/23.) Any units not turned in on those days must be returned on Friday, May 23. Be sure to have your stylus pen, battery charger sections and laptop bag ready to turn in with the laptop.

Cafeteria News: No charges will be allowed.

Parent orientation meetings regarding the student laptop program for 8^th and 9^th grade AJHS students next year will be held on the following dates: for 2008-2009 9^th grade students: May 15 (6:00 p.m.), July 31 (noon and 6:00 p.m.); for 2008-2009 8^th grade students: August 1 (noon and 6:00 p.m.), August 12 (6:00 p.m.), and August 14 (6:00 p.m.) All meetings will be held in the auditorium/cafeteria at AJHS. Seating is limited to approximately 250 people per session. Receipt of a student laptop is contingent upon parent attendance to an orientation session.

Students: Once you arrive on our campus, you are not permitted to leave until the end of the school day at 3:15 p.m. unless you are checked out by an authorized person through the school office. If you choose to leave our campus otherwise, you will be considered to be skipping school and will be dealt with accordingly.

Students and teachers: Use great caution when near the construction area around the cafeteria.

AJHS will not accept checks from students after May 9^th.

All books checked out from the library media center were due Friday, Friday, May 2.

Clubs and Organizations

2008-2009 Yearbook Staff Members: We will have a meeting on Tuesday, May 20, from 3:15-3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Logan’s room. You must see her if you cannot come to this meeting.

FCA tailgating will be this Friday. Come out and tailgate before the high school football game this Friday night. We will be grilling out hotdogs, snacks, and drinks will be provided. We will hangout, throw the Frisbee, football, and volleyball up until game time. Come right after school to the Kiwanis Park right next to the AJHS. Everyone is invited.

Congratulations to the girls golf team on their second place finish at State!

Auburn High School will play Wetumpka in the Spring Football Game on Friday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m. at Duck Samford Stadium. Come out and support the Tigers!

Attention all rising 9^th grade students who wish to play football: There will be a brief meeting on Monday, May 19, at 7:50 a.m. in the AJHS gym with Coach Crum.

Attention girls interested in participating in cross-country and/or track during the 2008-2009 school year-plan to attend an information meeting on Tuesday, May 20, or Wednesday, May 21, at Auburn High School. Bring yourself and a parent to Room 201 at 6:00 p.m. on either night. Information about eligibility, off-season training, summer camps and upcoming season details will be provided.
