The AHS Marching Band plays the National Anthem at pregame of the 1987 Auburn University - University of Texas football game. At the time, this game set the record for the highest attendance at a football game in the state, at over 80,000 fans, giving the Auburn High School Band the then-record of having the most fans view a single performance live of any marchng band in the state, at any level; not even including the national TV audience who also viewed the performance on ESPN. Sharp eyes will also note the University of Texas Longhorn Band sitting in the stands in the upper lefthand corner of the picture.
