A Message from the ABPA PresidentKeith Wesley, ABPA President -
Keith Wesley

Hello & Welcome to the Auburn Band Parents Association Web Site. Another wonderful year has begun & it has many of us wondering how we got so lucky as to be recruited for this job. My name is Keith Wesley & I am the Band Parent President this year. So far it has been a wonderful experience & things are really getting busy.

This letter is just an informal way of letting you know what the ABPA is about & what we are doing to further your child’s band experience. All the members of the ABPA are volunteers who enjoy serving the Auburn Band in many ways. We serve the Auburn High School, Auburn Jr. High, & Drake Band by raising money through Football Concessions, Supper Concert sales, & Band Parent Association Membership. With these proceeds, we supply the band program with new instruments, instrument repair, sheet music, band uniforms, and many other necessary items. We do this to keep our band fees low & provide the best instruction & materials for our students.

One of our greatest fund raisers is the Football Concessions. Each week, many wonderful parents, just like you, volunteer a few hours on Friday night to serve food & drinks to the hungry masses attending the Auburn High School football game. Without their support, many of the needs of the band program might go unmet.

ABPA parentSo what else do we do with your hard earned money? Well, each year we provide needed instruments to all three bands. These include Tubas, Baritones, Xylophones, & many of the other instruments that are too expensive or unusual to require the student’s family to purchase them. We also have a fund set up for the purchase of new uniforms. Many parents would be shocked at the expenses associated with something as simple as a uniform. They are extremely expensive to purchase, maintain, store, and repair. But the sight of our children marching on the field in such wonderful attire makes all the effort to secure such funds well worth it.

I’m excited at how with a little work, some great leadership, good food, and excellent kids, a new year of possibilities is looking bright.

Please check this sight often and I will try to keep you informed of upcoming events and opportunities for you to volunteer to help us make the Auburn Band program the best it can be.

Thank you for your time,

Keith Wesley
