Career Courses:

Tiger Inc. is an innovative approach to student learning originated from the ideas of Renee Pay, "Company" founder.  The program, which has been replicated in 25 states is patterned after actual businesses and is run as a company. Students become “employees,” the teacher is the “Director,” subject areas are “departments,” and class periods are “shifts.” As employees in the company, students have responsibility and accountability for their learning.

Auburn High School's Business Department adopted this student learning management system called "Tiger, Inc." at the start of the 2004-05 school year. Tiger, Inc. is designed to empower students with choice and with ownership of their learning. No longer are students required to cover the same material at the same pace!

As a Tiger, Inc. employee, students won't have to "wait to learn" and can exempt from previously learned State of Alabama Department of Education course competencies so they do not have to repeat material. Students enrolled in the Auburn High School Business program will now embark upon a training program designed to propel them on their way to acquiring validated competencies, building an impressive job portfolio of certification, gaining management experience, and learning invaluable organizational, goal setting and time-management skills.  See your counselor to sign up for one of our exciting career courses!
