AUBURN HIGH SCHOOL BAND
PROPOSED PARTICIPATION AND TRIP TO THE
ABC/BOSCOV’S PHILADELPHIA THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE
NOVEMBER 22 – 28, 2008

The Auburn High School Band has been invited to participate in the 2008 ABC/Boscov’s Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.  This invitation came by way of being accepted through applications sent to the parade organizers.  I am very excited that the band has received this invitation and hope that every member of the band can go.  On the reverse of this page is a sample itinerary so that you can see what might be involved in this trip.  Since we have just received the invitation, cost has not yet been determined.  Every member of the 2008-2009 Auburn High School Band program (as well as those members of the Auburn Junior High School Band who will be participating in the 2008 AHS Marching Band) is eligible to attend the trip.  There is a minimum number of marchers required for participation in the parade.  If we do not obtain this number, the band will be unable to participate.  Although family members will not count toward the number of marchers, everyone is welcome to travel with the band and enjoy the planned activities.
All items listed on the reverse are possible activities that the trip could include.  This is an actual listing of activities used by a band that participated in this past year’s parade.  I am in the very preliminary stages of planning this trip but wanted to get as much information out to you as possible.  As plans become more definite, I will let you know.
