A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I grew up in Wetumpka, Alabama and graduated from Wetumpka High School in 1971.  My high school band director was Mr. Truman Welsh.  After completing high school I attended Auburn University where I was granted  Bachelor of Science in Music Education and a Masters of Music (Trombone Performance) degrees.  After this I attended the University of Mississippi where I received a Doctor of Arts degree in Music Theory.  Before accepting the position of Director of Bands here at Auburn High School, I taught for 8 years at Victoria High School in Victoria, Texas.  I have been the Director of Bands at Auburn High School since the fall of 1989.

For the 2007-2008 school year my class schedule includes IB Music, Music Theory, Symphonic Band (2 classes), Honors Band and Lab Band.  Each class meets on an alternating day schedule.  A description of each class is listed below.  Also listed below is information for and copies of forms used by the students in the AHS Band.  For more information about and the history of the Auburn High School Band please visit the band's website.
