The Alabama High School Graduation Exam is required for all students to obtain a diploma from any high school in Alabama.  Hopefully, the information provided on this website will answer questions you may have about the AHSGE.  Contact information is provided at the bottom of the page if you need further information.

Student scores from the AHSGE are reported to Auburn High approximately three weeks after the test has been taken.  Students are notified verbally through school officials, and parents are notified via mail.  Approximately five weeks after the test, the student will receive an Individual Student Report that specifically outlines areas of weakness if a student did not successfully clear the test.  These are given directly to the student and it is expected they share those with parents.

Study Tips
Below are some web links that may help in preparing for the AHSGE:
www.alsde.edu This is the webpage for the Alabama State Department of Education.  There are some excellent resources to access by following the following directions:  Once on the webpage, find "Sections" on the right, "Student Assessment", "Publications", "AHSGE", "Item Specifications".  This is a booklet that you may either print or save in Adobe that provides the Objectives, Content Standards, and Eligible Content for each of the areas tested.  I highly recommend using this booklet and knowing this content for the exam.
Social Studies Flash Cards These are questions and answers that can be printed (about 25 pages) that contain information for each objective, standard, and question of eligible content.  Once printed, these can be cut and pasted onto index cards or used however works best for the student.
