Criteria to be considered for Team A:

 

1. Regularly meets with teacher advisor (s) to update progress on studying for events. Does not wait until the last possible opportunity to meet with teacher(s).

2. Willingness to work with any partner.

3. Willingness to be flexible and study for events as needed to help the team do well in competition.

4. Responds to emails from SO supervisor.

4. Returns dues and forms on time.

 

What are you expected to “show and tell” your teacher advisor(s)?

 

Study events:

 

SO students come to teacher advisor(s) during scheduled office hours. Students show one or more of the following (1) documentation of times spent practicing at home or in the library; (2) documentation of meeting(s) with event mentor(s); (3) resources collected (books, web material, etc.). Students tell the teacher a summary of what they have learned

about the event. Teacher will ask questions to probe the extent of knowledge.

 

Building events:

 

SO students come to teacher advisor(s) during scheduled office hours. Students show one or more of the following (1) evidence of research on the device; (2) detailed drawings and/or pictures of device (3) documentation of meeting(s) with event mentor(s).  Students tell teacher of plans to schedule practices.

 

 

 

Teacher advisor office hours will be announced via email. You must be committed to checking your email on a regular basis or you will miss vital information about the competition.
