2001 District Convention

This year's convention theme was "Mission: Possible," and we all thought the district officers did a commendable job of carrying out the theme throughout the convention.  The Ramada Beach Resort was our home for the convention yet again.  Much has changed, unfortunately, as the restaurant and indoor pool have both been demolished.  The staff was just as friendly as ever, though: We even involved the security officers in a few of our late-night "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" games out by the pool.

	Every good trip begins with an Elvis sighting.
	Upon our arrival at the Ramada Beach Resort, we immediately hit the beach.
	Dinner was a yummy hamburger and some tasty lemonade!
	At the Opening Session, the district officers assumed the roles of the Men in Black.
	Although most winners of the door prizes were content with t-shirts and civitan logo paraphernalia, it was the AHS civitans who decided to take the entire table!
	While the other civitans were sleeping, the AHS civitans headed to the beach for some late-night practice for the Lack-of-a-Better-Name Games.  Their hard work and dedication paid off the next morning.
	Saturday morning's breakfast was followed by the business session.
	Yes, we admit it.  We stole the pig from the banquet hall.

	Competition was fierce at the Putt-Putt course.
	This civitan was the only person to beat Mr. Pennisi at air hockey.  Mr. P. later beat her in the championship tournament, 3-2.
	We tested our batting skills (and bravery) in the super-high-speed baseball batting cages.  Those badboys were flying at us at over 75 mph!
	We were dressed up and looking snappy at the banquet on Saturday night.  We didn't even know we were about to win the Club of the Year award!
