Meet the Staff:

What is Tiger TV?

Tiger TV is a course for juniors and seniors that allows students to experience current and emerging technology in Mass Media.  Students are expected to have an understanding of Journalism, to speak in front of audiences both large and small, and to work well as part of a team.  Tiger TV students learn about, operate, and manage cameras and film editing equipment.  They manage scheduling to create news stories, commercials, and video specials.  Tiger TV students produce regularly scheduled programs for the school and community.  This course provides an introduction to Broadcast Journalism and Advertising.

Class Info

Fees: A one-time $15.00 fee will be collected on the first day of class to cover lab, field trip, and t-shirt costs.

Class Start Time: We will be running regularly scheduled programming at 7:50 each day. Because of this, you will be expected to be in class at 7:30. If you show up late, you will be counted tardy.

Materials: It is very important that you bring your Tiger TV Log to class every day. It will be divided into four sections (Journal, AHS Today, Special Reports, and Final Project) to help you stay organized throughout the year. Please keep you notebook stocked with paper, and have a writing utensil ready for each day.

Homework: You will always be on the lookout for the latest breaking news. You will be required to complete assignments or projects at home. Also, you should always watch the news!

Absences and Missed Assignments: It is your responsibility to find out what you miss during your absence. Because this is such an involving class, absences will very much frowned upon. You are expected to treat this class like a job and therefore are expected to be here to work every day on time. You will be given deadlines for assignments; if you miss the deadline, you will receive a zero.

Tardies: Tardies are unacceptable. According to the student handbook, you get two free tardies each nine weeks. After that, you will receive a detention from me. If you are tardy, even if it is a free tardy, you must sign the tardy sheet immediately. You will also be marked tardy in my roll book.

Classroom Behavior: If your behavior is disruptive (inhibiting other students from learning, sleeping, working on something other than work that is assigned in my class), that behavior is unacceptable and you will be reprimanded. Know your student handbook; the rules in it will be enforced. Below are some things to remember.
