Club Info

The AHS government club was established in 1992 to serve as a club for students who wanted the experience to act as real Alabama representatives. Two Tuesdays a month the club will come together at 7:00pm in Mr. Callahan's room and practice parliamentary procedure by debating two bills. 

The main event of government club is Alabama Youth Legislature Weekend in April. During this four day event AHS students will join students from across the state in active debate. Many AHS students have held prestigious officer positions and been elected for the National Affairs Team. 
Government club is not all work though, as a member you will be able to build lifelong friendships with students across the state. Along with debating bills and using state facilities, Youth leg weekend also has two dances, socials and FUN!
