Delta Epsilon Phi

Delta Epsilon Phi, the National German Honor Society, was originally founded at Coral Gables High School in 1968 by a devoted German teacher named Käthe Wilson.  The sponsor of this society is the American Association of Teachers of German, Inc.  There are now over 1,300 chapters in 50 states of which Auburn High School is proudly represented. The purpose of this organization is to recognize high school scholastic achievement in the study of German and to promote interest in the study of German language, literature, culture, and civilization.

The German Honor Society, as mandated by the AATG, requires that students maintain a 3.6 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in their studies of German for a minimum of three semesters, and that these students maintain a 3.0 GPA overall.  The Auburn High School chapter represents a legacy of high scholarship and dedication to the field of German at the secondary level since first established in 1983 by Helga Wilmoth.  It warrants attention from both potential employers and higher institutions of learning.

Delta Epsilon Phi's Induction Ceremony for student members of the 2007-08 academic year will take place Sunday afternoon, December 2nd, 2007, at 2:00 pm in the Multi-Media Room.
