EDUCATION RESEARCH

It shall be the policy of the Board to cooperate with colleges, universities and other agencies in promoting potentially significant research. Because of the very large number of requests to make questionnaire and interview studies in schools, it is necessary to set definite criteria for such studies.

Decisions in connection with research involving students, teachers or other employees will be based on the following criteria:

  • The project should be so designed that it can be expected to produce valid and reliable results;

  • It should be expected to contribute something useful and of value for the improvement of education;

  • Outlines must be submitted and should be of sufficient scope and depth to justify the time and effort to be consumed; and

  • In general, it is the policy of the Board not to interrupt the work of pupils or teachers.

  • The Superintendent and staff shall develop procedures for approving requests for research studies in the Auburn City Schools.
