INTERVIEWS WITH STUDENTS

Individual pupils may not be interviewed by any person, except an employee of the Board, without the approval of the principal.

No interview shall be granted unless it is deemed essential to the welfare of the child or school. An employee of the school district shall be present during such interview, except interviews conducted by the Department of Human Resources (DHR) in connection with a child abuse investigation where the DHR representative requests that such interview be in private. The pupil’s parents/guardian shall be notified if the interview is requested by law enforcement officials. However, this implies that school personnel will cooperate fully with all law enforcement personnel in the performance of their duty.
