ADMISSIONS

 

All students attending Auburn City Schools must live/reside in Auburn City limits and must continue to so live/reside while attending Auburn City Schools as determined by Auburn City Schools residence requirements policies.  Additionally, each such student will be assigned to and must attend the school covered by the attendance zone for the area in which the student lives and resides.

Exceptions may be permitted for:

1.  Special education students allowed to cross attendance zone lines pursuant to agreement with other school zones:  or for Local District Zone assignments.

2.  Children of teachers, staff members or employees of the Auburn City Schools System who are residents of the City of Auburn:  All employees of Auburn City Schools, who reside within the City limits of Auburn, may enroll his/her child/children at the school in which they work.  Such total enrollment shall be on a year-to-year basis and shall be terminated if majority –to-minority ratios are adversely affected by these enrollments or if the employee transfers, resigns or has a contract that is non-renewed and /or terminated. If said event occurs the child/children shall be enrolled in the school to which they are zoned by virtue of residence. Those employees wishing to enroll their child/children shall contact their building principal. In the event of dispute on this matter, the Superintendent shall have final authority for the assignment of children to a building.
