TEACHER CONTRACTS
Certified employees will receive a letter from the Auburn City Schools Board of Education notifying them of their approval for employment. This letter serves both as notification of approval and as the official contract for employment. Certified employees are expected to sign and return the letter by the designated date indicating their acceptance of the contract. Contracted personnel should read and understand each of the items on the contract as the Board will fulfill its commitments and expects employees to do likewise. A contract is offered each year until a recommendation for tenure is presented by the Superintendent. Teachers that receive tenure will have taught three consecutive years in Auburn City Schools and will be employed for the following year, thus placing them on continuing contract. Their contract remains in force until canceled by the teacher or by the Board.
