ACADEMIC STIPEND

Teachers who are assigned to teach a class that takes away or deducts time from their planning period will receive extra compensation in accordance with an academic stipend salary schedule set by the Board.

Academic stipends will be considered an exceptionality to the normal teacher compensation process and will be handled on a case-by-case basis only when the need to provide instruction to students cannot be met in any other way. The intent of this policy is to provide instruction on an emergency basis and to provide equitable compensation to the teacher asked to meet that need.
