TRANSPORTING STUDENTS IN CARS
Students may be transported in private vehicles to curricular or extra-curricular activities in accordance with the following provisions:
- Cars will be used to transport students only when vans and/or school buses are unavailable.
- The driver of any private vehicle furnishes to the principal verification that he/she has appropriate insurance coverage on the vehicle to be used. The minimum acceptable coverage shall be $100,000 per person for bodily injury with an aggregate bodily injury limit of $300,000, a $100,000 limit for property damage, $2,000 per person for medical payments, and $20,000 per person for uninsured motorists coverage.
- If more than one car is used, the cars will travel in caravan with a staff member driving the lead car.
- No Auburn City School student will be allowed to drive.
- A signed parent permission form will be required for each student. The form will state the purpose of the trip, destination and that a parent will be driving.
