FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT REQUIREMENTS

The Board intends to comply with the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 and its amendments.

The Superintendent shall determine the need for overtime work in both amount and timing and compensate applicable employees involved. Teachers, administrators and certain support employees are exempt from the provisions of the act; that is, they are not entitled to overtime compensation.

The Superintendent or designee shall be the only person authorized to approve overtime work/compensation.
