SCHOOL YEAR

The school year shall meet the minimum standards set forth in The Code of Alabama and in State Board of Education rules and regulations.  The scholastic school year shall consist of a minimum of 180 instructional days of not less than six (6) hours (360 minutes) instructional time per day.  Unscheduled visitors, unapproved extra-curricular activities or fund-raising activities shall not interrupt this instructional time.

 The length of the calendar for certified personnel will include additional days for orientation, pre-school and post-school activities and in-service education.  The number of instructional days will be determined annually by the Board.
