Dr. Karen T. DeLano proudly serves as the superintendent of her alma mater, Auburn City Schools, and has been in the public education realm for more than 40 years.
DeLano completed her undergraduate through her doctoral degrees from Auburn University and has served as an elementary teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent in several school districts along the way, providing her with a wealth of knowledge and experience in her current role.
Her many accolades include being the principal of a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and being named the 2010 Curriculum Leader of the Year by the Alabama Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
With a servant’s heart, DeLano gives of her time to various local agencies including the United Way of Lee County, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and the National Advisory Council at Auburn University.
Currently DeLano is working with her leadership team to oversee the construction of the new Auburn High School, which is set to be complete in the spring of 2017.
