AUBURN HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

GAMEDAY

Depending on games home or away, players will be informed of the times they are to be at the field.  Players are expected to be at the field at the designated time and on the bus for away games at the designated time.  If the bus leaves a player, we do not want them to ride to the game in another vehicle.  The player will not be allowed to play in the game since they did not make the bus ride.

The game itself is very important to our athletes.  It is a time of high anxiety and we want them to feel as relaxed and focused as possible.  Our coaching staff does not believe in intentionally putting players under great pressure to perform.  The game naturally causes pressure for them, however.  Our staff asks that parents respect the athletes during the game by not talking to them or “coaching” them about their performance.  We strongly believe that practice is where you teach; the game is where you perform.  Players do not need to have to think about what they are doing wrong.  We want them to react from what they work on in practice situations.

The game is a time for parents to enjoy watching their son perform.  There is always something positive about their performance.
