Mr. Bo Morrissey World History/Geography
Fall/Spring Semester 07-08 Course Syllabus
Course Information:
This course on World History and Geography, will cover from the beginning of civilizations to around 1500. As you can see, this is a large portion of time to cover in only one semester. However, as a class, we will move through the material as rapid and thorough as possible. This statement is very important to those students who find themselves absent on a frequent basis. It will be very easy to fall behind in this class if students do not attend on a regular basis. Also, many materials from class maybe found online at my website. That being said, buckle your seat belts because this will hopefully be a class you will never forget.
Materials:
Students will need the following:
- A two inch three ring binder
- Loose leaf paper
- Markers or colored pencils
- Pen and pencils
- Textbook will be provided
Grading:
This course will use the point system to establish grades. The usual break down of points is as follows: Tests 100 points, Projects 100 points, Quizzes 30 points, and Homework 10 points. Students are encouraged to follow along and keep up with their point totals as the year progresses.
Late and Make-up Work
There will be no late work turned in unless there is a special circumstance. Work is to be turned in at the proper time assigned by the teacher. Make-up work will only be accepted if a student as an excused absence. They will then have one week to complete the material missed and return it to the teacher. Students are responsible to make up missed tests or quizzes before or after school within the same week.
Rules and Expectations:
See team rules and expectation list. Each student will receive a copy at the beginning of the semester.
