Mrs. White's Classroom Rules:
1. Be respectful.
2. Be responsible.
3. Be ready.
4. If late, sign in on the tardy sheet as you enter. Three tardies in a nine weeks results in detention.
5. Plan to stay in class unless there’s an emergency!
6. Stay in your seat unless you have permission to get up.
7. Leave food, drinks, gum, and candy at home or in the cafeteria.
8. If you’ve been absent, check daily folders for handouts and class notebook for assignments. Make up assignments ASAP, mark them “ABSENT,” and place them in the “ABSENT” tray.
9. Unless excused by an absence, late homework is not accepted.
10. Late projects or papers are marked –10 for every day they are late.
11. Honor class time as a time for learning. If you take away from class time, I will invite you to my detention on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Materials Needed for Class:
1. two 3-prong folders 6. blue/black pens
2. a three-ring notebook (at least 1 ½ ”) 7. colored pencils
3. four notebook dividers 8. a sketch pad
4. college lined loose leaf paper
5. a pocket folder to fit in your 3-ring notebook

Grading:
Your grade is determined by the total number of points earned during a semester divided by the total number of points possible during that semester. Essays, tests, journals, and major projects will be worth 100 points or more; quizzes and are worth 20-50 points; homework and classroom assignments are worth 10-25 points depending on the task.
I issue each student 3 “bathroom passes” a nine weeks to be used for emergencies only. Each pass is worth 10 points and can be cashed in at the end of the nine weeks if not used. There will be other rare occasions when bonus points are offered to everyone, but I do not offer individuals extra credit to improve their grades.
