Step #8.

A.    Mouth moving, whisper reading listen to it yourself first, make changes as you hear something you want to improve.

B.     Copy and paste your composition two times below itself so you have three in a row.

C.     Go down to the first copy and color code by the five different brushstrokes:

          Red for painting with participles.

          Green for painting with absolutes.

Purple for adjectives shifted out of order.

          Orange for painting with appositives.

Blue for painting with action verbs (active voice) – This should be throughout.

D.    Question? Have you used all of the brushstrokes? Overused any? Overlooked any?                  Go down to the second copy below and revise 5 minutes.

E.     On this revised second copy, now color code sentence by sentence to SEE the different lengths.  Are they varied? Copy and paste below and revise on copy number three.

F.      Pass to peers for feedback.  Peers try to do the following:

1.    Read once and discern the organizational structure. Can you tell? If so, label.

2.    Are there any fragments? If so mark frag.

3.    Are there any run-ons? If so, mark r-o.

4.    Squiggle under repeated words (verbs repeated, adjectives repeated, etc., not “the,”

   “a,” etc.)
