Grading
Policy
Each student will have the opportunity to receive 10 points per day. Any
points lost for non-participation (7pts- 2 for exercises, 5 for activity),
improper shoes (1pt.), improper shirt (1pt.), improper shorts (1pt.), will be
deducted from the 10 points. At the end of the 9 weeks we will deduct total
number of points lost from the total number of points possible and divide by
total number of points possible. For example, if 200 points is the maximum
points earned and a students lost 15 points during the 9 weeks the students
grade would be a 93
(200-15=185. 185/200= 92.5 or 93). Unit tests will be given throughout
the year and will be added to the total number of possible points.
Dressing
Out
Because of the length of each Physical Education period, each student
will be required to dress out. A uniform will not be available, however, a white
T-shirt and a blue (navy or royal) pair of shorts will be required. Girls must
have sleeves and a crew neck t-shirt. Tennis shoes will also be required. If a
student does not dress out points will be deducted from his/her grade. It is
part of your Physical Education homework to remember your gym clothes. Each
student will be provided a P.E. locker. Locks are available for rental on first
come, first serve basis. The rental cost is $2.00. If a lock is lost a fee of
$5.00 will be assessed. Students may also provide their own combination lock and
should notify the teacher of the combination. No key or remote locks will be
allowed. The P.E. staff will not be responsible for unlocked lockers.
