Project Algebra Tile Equations

 

We have learned how to solve equations by reversing operations.  On a full poster, you will model how to solve equations using Algebra Tiles.

 

Requirements

 

1.     Turn in on time. Due date is_______________________________.

2.     Ten points will be deducted for late posters.

3.     Use a full poster to model the steps to solve an equation.  Turn the poster in a vertical fashion (Portrait) so the four equation mats can be arranged vertically.

4.     On the first mat, model the original equation.  On the second and third mats, model the reverse operations necessary to isolate the variable on one mat.  On the fourth mat, model the tiles left that represent the value of the variable.

5.     Cut the tile pieces neatly.  Arrange the tile pieces neatly on the mats.

6.     Write your equation and steps at the bottom of each mat.  Write the value of the variable at the bottom of the last mat. 

7.     The poster must be neat and have a title.  The tile of the poster must have the equation that you are solving.   “Project Algebra Tile Equation __________”
