Chapter 16. Curriculum for Algebra I
The Algebra I curriculum has been organized into ten units. Due to differing requirements by school districts concerning the sequence of objectives and units, no pacing guide is provided with the curriculum.
Unit A may be taught as the first unit in a one semester Algebra I class or a Fall semester Algebra I-A class to review fractions, decimals, percents and integer operations as well as to introduce and extend Finite Math concepts. While most Finite Math concepts can be included in the introductory unit, objectives related to writing the equation of the Line of Best Fit are best addressed in Unit 3. Because of its content, Unit A can be taught at any time during the year or it can be integrated into other units of instruction.
