Art Club News
(In 2005 the art club students worked with the residents of the Katrina Hurricane shelter and created art)
The 2007 - 2009 AJHS art club will begin meeting in September. It is open to any student at AJHS. We will meet on the second Tuesday of each month unless we need more meetings. We are trying to plan a trip to the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art sometime after school this year. Each student will receive a list of the meeting dates for the year. Attendance is necessary to complete all our wonderful projects, so parents please be sure your Art club member is there. Students will be allowed 2 absences before they are not allowed to participate in the club (absences due to sickness do not count).
T he AJHS art club will work on the decorations for the Chamber of Commerce Festival of Trees. We will be making cards for the East Alabama Food Bank and valentines for the residents of Monarch Estates. Any suggestions for activities will be appreciated.
Dates to Remember:
November ( end of November, 1st week in December) -
1. Deliver Thanksgiving cards to the food bank.
2. Decorate Tree in the Mall
