My name is Betsy Logan. I am beginning my 27th year of teaching. This is my 15th year at AJHS and my 19th year in Alabama. I have previously taught in Opelika and Victoria, Texas. I am currently the Southeastern Vice President of the National Art Education Association. I am a national board certified teacher. In fact I was the first one in Alabama to be certified in art. I encourage other teachers to pursue this wonderful professional experience.

I feel that the visual arts are important to all students.  The visual arts provide a tool for learning that transcends all academic classes.  They improve critical thinking skills and provide a much needed outlet for creativity and expression.
