The AJHS yearbook staff is an elective class for 9th grade students only. All students must apply for this staff as 8th graders and are selected based on citizenship, grades, teacher recommendation, and work ethic.  This class recieves one half of an elective credit and one half of the fine art credit for Graduation. In the fall we learn the journalistic and design aspects of making a yearbook. Students have a textbook and learn the terms and processes associated with yearbook production, the learn how to use PhotoShop and PageMaker as well.  They design the yearbook.  They also apply the content standards learned in the Studio in Art course, as well as keep a sketchbook.  In late December, early January we switch to a totally Studio in Art class with a little yearbook sprinkled in as needed.  For more information please contact me.
