Weekly Sketchbook Assignments9th Grade and Yearbook Staff

You will draw in your sketchbook during the first five minutes of class everyday.  The assignments listed below are to be completed by the end of each week.  You are to label each drawing with the date, and fill up the page.  Put a background and color everything unless it tells you otherwise.  These will be graded 2 times during the nine weeks.  FILL UP THE WHOLE PAGE AND LABEL THE DRAWING ON THE BACK!

 

8/20 – 8/24/07 – Draw and color a picture of your favorite CD or music group. (Put a background and color everything)

 

8/27 – 8/31/07 - Draw a picture of your own animated character.  Add a background and color it.

 

9/04 – 9/07/07 – Draw and shade a picture of your hand.

 

9/10 – 9/14/07 – Draw and shade a picture of something in the art room.

 

9/17 – 9/21/07 – Create your own outer space creature.  Draw a picture of it, put a background and color everything.

 

9/24 – 9/28/07 – Draw and shade a picture of something that would be in your locker, back

                                pack, or purse. (Put a background and color or shade everything)

 

10/01 – 10/05/07 – Draw and shade a picture of your shoe.

 

10/08 – 10/12/07– Draw and color a picture of something from your favorite sport. (Put a background and color everything)

 

10/15 – 10/18/07 – Design a billboard to discourage people from using drugs.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

10/22 – 10/26/07 - You are a talented jewelry designer.  Draw a picture of a piece of jewelry you

                                have designed. (Put a background and color everything)

 

10/29 – 11/02/07 – Draw a picture of the funniest face you’ve ever seen.  Put a background and color it

 

11/05 – 11/09/07 – A group of explorers found a rare bird deep in the jungle.  Draw a picture of

                                this bird (Put a background and color everything)

 

11/13 – 11/16/07 – Free week, draw and color what you want. (Put a background and color everything)

 

11/26 – 11/30/07– Draw and color a picture of something that might be on the moon. (Put a background and color everything)

 

12/03 – 12/7/07 - Design a wrapper and make up a name for a new candy bar.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

12/10 – 12/14/07 – Draw a sea monster that rises from the sea every hundred years.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

1/07 – 1/11/08 – Design a new space shuttle for NASA.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

1/14 – 1/18/07 – Draw a picture of a new species of flowers.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

1/22 – 1/25/08 – Draw and color a picture of what you think a dentist sees when you “open  

                            wide”. (Put a background and color everything)

 

1/28 – 2/1/07 – If you could have any toy or game in the world, what would it be?  Draw this,       

                            put a background and color everything.

 

2/04 – 2/08/08 – You are in a spaceship that is landing on Mars, draw a picture of the Welcoming

                            Committee that is coming to greet you.  (Put a background and color everything)

 

2/011 – 2/15/08 - Draw and shade a picture of something in your room at home. Put a background as well.

 

2/19 – 2/22/08 - Draw something that you would find at a birthday party. (Put a background and color everything)

 

2/25 – 2/29/08 – Design and color your own video game. (Put a background and color everything)

 

3/03 – 3/07/08 – You have just uncovered a buried treasure, what is it?  Draw a picture of it put a background and color everything.

 

3/10 –3/14/08 – Design and color a new style of boots that someone would wear in outer space. (Put a background and color everything)

 

3/24 – 3/27/08 – You are the secretary of the treasury of a new nation.  Design some money for

                            this nation. (Put a background and color everything)

 

3/31 – 4/04/07 – Draw a picture of something that would come out of a lantern if you rubbed it. (Put a background and color everything)

 

4/07 - 4/11/08– Design and color a bumper sticker to put on your car. (Put a background and color everything)

 

4/14 – 4/17/08 – What would do you think of when you hold a seashell up to your ear?  Draw a

                           picture of it. (Put a background and color everything)

 

4/21 – 4/25/08 – Draw a picture of yourself.  Shade it.

 

4/28 – 5/02/08 – Draw and color a picture of the grandest castle ever imagined. (Put a background and color everything)

 

5/05 – 5/09/08 – Draw and color a picture of your earliest memory. (Put a background and color everything)

 

5/12 – 5/16/08 – Draw and color a picture of something you are wearing.
