Lee Vinson was a member of the Auburn High School Band from 1993-97, and currently performs as a percussionist with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C.. While at Auburn High, he qualified for a spot in the Alabama Bandmasters All-State Red Band five times, sitting first chair Red Band his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years, as well as being selected twice to be a member of the National Band Association National High School Honor Band. After graduating from Auburn High, Vinson attended the Eastman School of Music for three years where he studied under John H. Beck. Vinson has also held positions with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, New Eastman Symphony, Eastman Philharmonia, Brevard Music Center Festival Orchestra, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. © Trey Armistead, 2001.
